  Giving Children Fitness for Life

children playingThe health and wellbeing of children is being constantly eroded by the lifestyle changes and recreational choices presented in the 21st century. Of great concern is the dramatic rise of obesity among children, with as many as one in four affected in some regions. Improved sports education is proven effective solution and a good start in sports will lead to lifelong participation, with significant corresponding health and lifestyle benefits.

ViveMotions´ Fitness for Life Programme is aimed at helping younger school children become physically active for life. A range of Olympic sports are featured -Athletics (both Field and Track) Basketball, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Softball and Tennis.

Created by leading athletes and experts within their fields, these programmes introduce children to a wide variety of sports in an enjoyable and supportive environment, while assisting the needs of teachers and coaches through providing an effective means of conducting classes.

Many different types of sports are catered for (team sports, individual sports, net sports, striking games, ball sports and invasion games), allowing for the development and improvement of a variety of fundamental movement skills including motor skills, spatial awareness, balance and hand-eye coordination.

The programme focuses on developing the components of fitness required for participation in each sport. Speed, endurance and agility are developed using fun and enjoyable games. Power and strength are enhanced through the use of own body weight exercises while flexibility training is incorporated through the use of stretching and gymnastic activities. The ABCs of athleticism - agility, balance, co-ordination and speed- are at the foundations of each activity.

The Fitness for Life programme is suited to a range of age groups at primary/elementary school level (5-10 years). This is reflected by the type of equipment provided, the volume and intensity of exercise and the level of difficulty of activities.

  The Programmes include:
- Training for Teachers or Coaches/Coordinators.
- Individual Lesson Leader Class Cards for organising each activity.
- All Equipment required to conduct the classes.
- On-Line Website and Support Service.
